Dr. Simon Goldenberg is an eminently qualified consultant microbiologist who joined Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in 2005. He has an interest in healthcare-associated infections (notably Clostridium difficile infections) and all features of infection prevention and control. Dr. Goldenberg is also an assistant editor for the Journal of Hospital Infection. His private practice is based at London Bridge Hospital.

He has extensive professional skills in infection prevention and control, decontamination methods related to healthcare settings contaminated with infectious agents, as well as experience studying antimicrobial resistance among various species of microorganisms. Furthermore, due to his 2012 MD from King's College London in molecular epidemiology and diagnostics for infectious diseases, he has acquired particular expertise in conducting lab research on pathogens that cause infectious diseases.
