Professor Jian Farhadi is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and he also sees patients privately, including at The London Bridge Hospital.
He specialises in reconstructive, aesthetic and corrective breast surgery and surgery after weight loss. As a microsurgeon he is able to offer patients the various types of reconstruction currently available, including DIEP, SGAP and TMG flaps. He has extensive experience in reconstructive surgery after double mastectomy using own tissue or implants combined with a matrix.
Prof Farhadi was the past Director of the Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and King's College Hospital. He gained his medical degree at the University of Basel, Switzerland and the University Pitié-Salpetriè in Paris, France. His general and plastic surgical residencies were completed in Switzerland and Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut
He is actively involved in teaching and research on the topic of breast augmentation and breast reconstruction and is invited regularly to international meetings to lecture on the subject.
He is author of over 70 publications and several book chapters. Prof Jian Farhadi also is Co-director of the European Master in Breast Surgery, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.
He is the Founder and a Trustee of charity the Bra Foundation, Chairman of the London Breast Meeting and he is a reader at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Basel in Switzerland.
