Professor Jayant Vaidya specialises in breast cancer surgery. He is a world-renowned leader in a technique called targeted intraoperative radiotherapy (TARGIT-IORT) during lumpectomy procedures. He has a keen interest in the diagnosis and treatment of a plethora of breast problems. He ensures he offers the best evidence-based treatments for each patient.
He began his career with a huge acknowledgement of his intellect being declared a National Scholar at 17. He continues to work in highly prestigious institutions throughout the UK and India. Additionally, he works as a Professor of Surgery and Oncology at University College London. He has 30 years of experience behind him, enabling him to be a highly skilled and knowledgeable oncologist.
He has a well-established research history with over 250 peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals. He continues this research interest by leading several international multi-centre clinical studies in breast cancer and associated oncology. He contributes to the education of his medical colleagues by training teams around the world in his technique TARGIT-IORT, allowing them to offer this treatment in over 260 institutions worldwide.
