Professor Kidd is a consultant rheumatologist and also professor of clinical rheumatology at Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry. He has a special interest in chronic musculoskeletal pain and assists patients with symptoms arising from spinal disorders, inflammatory arthritis and soft tissue disorders. He also sees individuals suffering from less well defined conditions such as fibromyalgia and upper limb disorders.
Considering that chronic pain often is associated with anxiety and uncertainty about the future, he believes that a holistic and tailored approach to treatment produces the most effective outcomes. Professor Kidd places strong emphasis on education and helping people to help themselves.
His research into pain mechanisms in the rheumatological diseases, as well as the early diagnosis and management of inflammatory spinal disorders are internationally recognized.
