Miss Elizabeth Hawkes is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon. She is a specialist in cosmetic eyelid surgery, including upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty surgery. Miss Hawkes also practices advanced facial aesthetics for non-surgical face and eye rejuvenation. She sits on the clinical advsiory board for the Aesthetics Journal helping to set aesthetic industry standards and providing key specialist ophthalmic perspectives regarding cosmetic eye treatments. A trusted
voice of authority in the media, Miss Hawkes regularly speaks on issues surrounding eye
health and cosmetic eyelid surgery.
Elizabeth graduated from Imperial College, London and has trained at Harvard Medical School, Boston. She undertook postgraduate medical and surgical training at St Mary's Hospital, London before specialising in eye and eyelid surgery. Elizabeth completed her ophthalmic surgical training on the Oxford rotation and spent time at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.
Miss Hawkes is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. She has been appointed by the Royal College as an examiner for the final qualifation required to become an eye surgeon. She is a full member of the highly respected European Soicety of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the British Oculoplastic Surgical Society. Miss Hawkes has an interest in medical education and she has lectured at national and international events and is involved in teaching and training surgeons.
Combining her passion for precise delicate surgery and meticulous attention to detail, aesthetic and cosmetic plastic surgery of the eyelids was an obvious career choice. Her patients comment on her professional yet friendly approach.
Miss Hawkes held a substantive NHS consultant post as Clinical Lead for the Emergency Eye Care Service at the Royal Berkshire Hospital NHS Foundation trust. She is available to consult on all aspects of general ophthalmology and is recognised with the major insurance companies.
