Laura Kinsey is a Senior Specialist Dietitian within Gastroenterology at Manchester University NHS Trust and she also sees patients privately at HCA UK at The Wilmslow Hospital.
She attained a BSc (Hons) in Public Health Nutrition in 2002 and then a post-graduate diploma in Nutrition and Dietetics, leading to being qualified as a State Registered Dietitian in 2004. Her Masters’ research in 2005 led her to study the nutritional adequacy of the gluten-free diet in adult patients with Coeliac Disease and she presented the published work in 2007 at the International Coeliac Symposium. She has also carried out research on inflammatory bowel disease.
She has worked within the NHS since 2005 and is currently Clinical Lead for the gastroenterology team, which provides services to the gastroenterology and colorectal surgery inpatient wards and outpatient service. She is highly trained on the low FODMAP diet for IBS and similar disorders. Her areas of expertise includes Coeliac Disease, IBS, IBD, gastroparesis, food intolerance, short bowel syndrome, nutrition support and dietetic management of all gastrointestinal tract diseases.
