



Urology
Mr Vinod Nargund is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with specialist interests in Urological cancers, testicular diseases including male sexual and fertility problems. He was appointed Clinical Lecturer in Surgery and Renal Transplant and Honorary Senior Registrar in Urology at Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust and the University of Oxford.
Mr Nargund trained in Urology Units at City Hospital Belfast, Royal Infirmary Bradford and Churchill and John Radcliffe Hospitals, Oxford. He also spent a sabbatical at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, New York to complete training in the advancement of Genito-urinary Cancer. He was trained in laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery at Erasme University Hospital, Brussels and Oscar Lambret Cancer Centre at Lille, France.
Mr Nargund was also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching at Queen Mary’s, Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, University of London. He has been an undergraduate and postgraduate examiner for the University of London and served as a member of the court of examiners at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He received a PhD for his research on bladder cancer, publishing over 90 papers in national and international journals and is the principal editor of the textbook Urological Oncology published in 2007. His research interests include early diagnosis of genitourinary cancer, angiogenesis and minimally invasive management of urological cancers. He was nominated by his patients for Kings fund/Evening Standard NHS Champion award in 2002 and NHS Innovation in 2008.
