Dr Khan received his MBBS from the University of Punjab in 1984. He then became a specialist in general surgery in 1999. Dr Khan is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (both England and the Republic of Ireland).
Following his specialist training, he became the Clinical Lead for General Surgery and Colorectal Cancer at East Cheshire NHS Trust. Here he founded the Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgery and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery.
