Simon Atkinson is a Consultant Pancreaticobiliary and General Surgeon currently based at London Bridge Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital and King’s College Hospitals. Mr Atkinson completed his medical training at The Royal London Hospital, before undertaking surgical training in the South East Thames region. He went on to train in gastrointestinal surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and pancreaticobiliary at the Royal Perth Hospital in Western Australia. He has conducted research into the management of surgical patients on intensive care and nutrition.
As well as specialist services Simon Atkinson offers a general surgical gastrointestinal service to diagnose and treat abdominal pain. As part of his general surgical practice skin and subcutaneous lumps can be diagnosed and treated.
Simon Atkinson offers a range of general surgical services including surgery for all types of hernia both keyhole (laparoscopic) and open, upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, surgery to the stomach and duodenum, small intestine and appendicectomy.
Simon' interests outside of surgery are those of a busy family life, squash and evolutionary biology.

Mr Atkinson is an excellent surgeon. He communicates well with patients, and always has time, both for those who he treats but also staff. I have no hesitation in recommending him.
