“Quite simply the Don of Laparoscopy work. The Surgeon's Surgeon. I felt totally at ease the whole time I was under his care, his explanations were clear and concise and he couldn't do enough to make sure my post operation care was as excellent as the pre-operation care. In future, I refuse be cut open by anyone else. “

Having never experienced intrusive surgery Mr El Hasani was reassuring, clear and transparent about my procedure and explained all of the positives and negatives relating to the surgery. Any questions I had were given compassionately whilst at the same time ensuring I remained comfortable with the elected procedure. Having proceeded and now recovered there is nothing i could have asked more of Mr El Hasani and indeed the team working with him.

    Gallbladder Removal (Cholecystectomy)
Mr El Hasani was very professional and I know he is the leading surgeon in his field. However, I detected impatience when I asked him about the merits of the surgery. Where I was seeking reassurance, nothing was forthcoming. He seemed to hurry me along to decide if and when I wanted to be operated. I respect his expertise and because I was in chronic pain I decide there and then to have the operation. I thought that seeing I was seeing him as a private patient he would give me more time. His bedside manner needs improving. Again rather impatient and I felt I was being treated like a child. Having said all that, he is an excellent surgeon and I am so pleased with the work he's done. My post-op consultation went very well. In fact, I thought I was dealing with another man! He was lovely.

Great manner; perfect balance informality / formality. Businesslike, efficient, but warm and friendly. Easy to build trust. Clear explanation on diagnosis, options, risks and opinion.

Mr Shamsi El Hasani made me feel at ease and had a great bedside manner. Explaining the process from start to finish. He was also happy to see me as an emergency patient before surgery as I though I had an infection. I didn’t but he was reassuring and happy for me to come in. It wasn’t too much for him and said he would rather see me than not!
