For 15 years Sam Singh has been the lead Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Guys and St Thomas', a leading UK teaching hospital.

As well as being regarded as one of London's leading Foot and Ankle Specialists, nine other Foot and Ankle consultants in the South East have trained directly under him through the fellowship program he founded.

He graduated from Cambridge University, trained in Orthopaedic surgery in London and completed his training in Boston, USA. He is the only British Surgeon to have ever been awarded a specialist fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery from Harvard University.

He offers the latest proven techniques for managing all Foot and Ankle disorders including: Ankle sports Injuries, ligament injuries, bunions and hammertoes, Morton’s Neuroma and tendon disorders, Arthritis of the foot and ankle, Achilles tendon issues, Plantar Fasciitis, and minimally invasive foot surgery.

His commitment to giving patients clear and honest advice on recovering from injury or surgery led to his invitation to be be the senior editor on Bunions and Morton’s neuroma for the UK's leading patient resource, "NHS Choices." He also regularly publishes in academic and popular media.

He is passionate about his work, delivering his patients their care in a reassuring manner with a sprinkling of good humour.

He is a preferred provider of all insurance companies as his charges fall within their guidelines.

It is important that HCA is transparent about our relationship with those doctors who provide us with clinical guidance on delivering the best possible care to patients and operating our hospitals safely and efficiently. We set out here some of the ways in which we work together and the amount we pay this doctor for such services.

I made up my mind about having my foot op with Dr Singh within half an hour of meeting him. He was down to earth, funny and honest. He came across confident and knowledgeable. No red flags. I had the op within a week, yes had to self isolate for a week before surgery. The operation was not simple, I ended up with four toes broken, and 5 screws in my foot, yet my recovery was very quick. I'm back in normal shoes within a month and ready to resume proper exercise in another 10 days. I'm so happy :-)

Mr Singh friendly and professional and very approachable which immediately put me at ease. My treatment options were explained clearly, which enabled me to make an informed decision. Mr Singh gave me clear details of the post op care so I knew what to expect and could plan for it. I had surgery for an Achilles’ tendon problem, which has been very successful and have been supported by Mr Singh throughout my recovery.

I was blown away by how well Mr Singh listened to my explanation of my problem. I am a physiotherapist and I value any consultant who actually takes the time to properly listen and who I can see is clinically reasoning mentally whilst discussing my symptoms. His examination was absolutely thorough and very professional whilst still having a delightful bedside manner. I was also incredibly surprised at how smoothly recovery went post-op and my ankle is feeling the best it has for years and the best thing is I am able to run again pain-free which I never thought I would be able to do again. I cannot recommend Mr Singh enough.

Mr Singh treated my 11 year old daughter following pain that she had been experiencing in her heel which in turn had caused further pain in her joints. I have previously been a patient of Mr Singh for bunion surgery and when a diagnosis for my daughter's foot pain was required, I just knew I had to make arrangements for my daughter to meet with Mr Singh. Within a short appointment, Mr Singh was able to discuss my daughter's symptoms, examine and diagnose and then fully explain the diagnosis and treatment required to myself and more importantly, directly to my daughter. My daughter felt at ease and included in the whole process. A referral was made instantly for physio and arrangements made later that day for next steps. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Singh. His wealth of experience and knowledge shines through every time I meet with him. He is personable, understanding, listens and reports findings in a clear and concise manner. I also find that his network of PA's around him are also very informative, communicate promptly and efficiently.

I am very satisfied with the advice and care I have received from Mr Singh. He has thoroughly investigated the problem I have with my foot and given me pragmatic and logical advice about treatment. He explained very clearly what he considers is the cause of my problem and he took time to answer my questions. I always feel comfortable discussing problems with him and I know he gives his full attention to carefully planning diagnosis and treatment. Mr Singh has successfully treated a number of problems I have had with my feet and I have recommended him to a number of colleagues and family members because I know he will give them first class medical advice and treatment.

Sam Singh is excellent! I have used Sam for 2 separate injuries. A bad ankle ligament strain in 2017 and a fractured ankle in 2020. Sam has a really wonderful personal style, which is both relaxed and reassuring for anxious patients. He is very sincere and clearly passionate about his work. He is also pragmatic when considering resolution options. Sam has always explained the injury and action plan, and answered various questions, very clearly so that it is easy to understand. His clinic letters are detailed and very useful for reference, and are also written in a patient friendly manner. Dictating the clinic letters during the appointment is also helpful as it helps to immediately reconfirm consultation discussions. Sam offers great flexibility in appointments and when scans or X-rays are required, and covers a lot of information in a very efficient but unrushed manner. I have been fortunate not to require an operation, but I would no have hesitation and absolute trust in Sam if this was required. Thank you for all of your help. Highly recommended!

From the minute that Lorna, Mr Singh's excellent PA, answered the phone the whole experience of my visit and consultation with Sam Singh was both very smooth and a complete pleasure. Lorna and Elia between them managed to find me an almost instant appointment which was greatly appreciated as I was in great pain. My consultation with Sam Singh gave me confidence from the minute that he bothered come out and find me, introduce himself and then take me into his consulting room. His medical examination of my foot, follow-up x-ray and eventual injection were all highly professional and he explained everything as we went along. He then very kindly - there and then - organised follow-up physio in Chelsea with his preferred physiotherapist and close to my home. Finally the following day Lorna rang me to check that all went well and was in order for the physio and to book another appointment with Sam Singh in The Lister in a month's time. As I said at the beginning - it was a totally smooth and very pleasant experience from start to finish. I cannot speak more highly of the manner in which I was treated both mentally and medically - Thank you very much.
