Mr Richard Hewitt is a paediatric ear, nose, and throat consultant at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He also has private practices at Harley Street and The Portland Hospital for Women and Children. Mr Hewitt sees children with a wide range of ear, nose, and throat problems, and his special interests are in the management of airway obstruction, and middle ear and mastoid surgery (including cochlear implant). He also sees children with routine ENT conditions but who also have other complex medical conditions. Conditions seen by Mr Hewitt include tonsil and adenoid complaints, tonsillitis, sleep apnoea, snoring, hearing problems, and ear infections. His sub-specialist interest is in children's airway and laryngeal problems, voice disorders, neck lumps, thyroglossal cysts, haemangiomas, and cystic hygromas.

Mr Hewitt gained his medical qualification from Guy's and St Thomas' Medical School in 2000, part of which included clinical research with Harvard Medical School. He went on to train in London and completed six years of specialty training in the North Thames Region. Mr Hewitt developed an interest in paediatric ENT and head and neck surgery following time at Cincinnati Children's Hospital and Medical Centre in Ohio where he trained with a prominent expert in the field.
