



Orthopaedic Surgery
Mr Richard Carrington is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a vast experience in knee and hip surgery. He specialises in knee and hip joint replacement, and his areas of expertise include robotically assisted knee replacement surgery and revision knee surgery.
His NHS practice is at the world-renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, where he has been a consultant since 2003. He qualified from St Bartholomew’s Hospital in 1989 and undertook specialist orthopaedic training on the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital training program. He completed his training in Harvard University, Boston, USA, where he was a senior joint replacement fellow.
Mr Carrington has a keen academic interest and publishes regularly in peer review journals. He is member of the prestigious Revision Knee Working Group, which has been set up to improve outcomes following revision knee surgery in the UK. He is regularly invited to speak on his areas of expertise both at national and international orthopaedic meetings. He was recognised as one of the top knee replacement surgeons in the country in The Daily Mail’s The Good Doctors Guide.
