Mr Deshmukh was extremely thorough in his examinations and really took the time to reassure me and fully explain his findings. I have a very complicated history with my eyes, having had multiple surgeries and having multiple conditions (raised intraocular pressure, previous retinal detachment, lens exchanges/cataracts and now guttata). I was quite anxious and apprehensive about another eye appointment but Mr Dashmukh really put me at ease and dealt perfectly with my questions and assessing my complex history. I have seen many ocular specialists at this stage and would absolutely recommend Mr Deshmukh - for his knowledge, thoroughness and beside manner. 5*s!

Mr Deshmukh was clear in his explanations and patient. I booked an extra appointment to really tease out the many options that might be available. My eyes and eye health were fully exlained to me. Instead of the US all singing, all dancing, very expensive lenses, I have monovision which works fabulously well for a fraction of the price. When one eye did not register vision as planned, Mr Deshmukh, with the Technician, spent time (not at my expense!!!) checking the eye out and doing a YAG procedure. He also listened to my anxieties, diagnosed an adrenaline rush (never had that before!) and settled my next operation with diazepan. Finally, he is in his 40's and that is an age I prefer my professionals, Experienced, up to date and full of energy!

I would like to write few lines about service I received today at moerfield eye hospital. I noticed in life people thinks it’s right to write only complains rather than appreciating someone exceptional care/ support. Today I been for my planned Cataract Surgery around 11.30. Nurses helped me about pre Ops paperwork and tests. After that stage Dr Rajesh checked my eyes, explained me well in detail, I feel very light and comfortable by talking to him, actually most of my fear went away the way he gave me confidence. As I am very shortsighted, almost wearing glasses -16.5 D for that eye and surgery was not that as simple like others. A little while they took me for surgery. In my last surgery I was on sleep but this one I can see and hear by other eye, doctor throughout surgery was talking to me, asking any pain, advising me, supporting me. After the surgery he came all the way to recovery room and very politely explained me about successful surgery and eye drops and care which I need to carry on using in future. I really appreciate and recommend Dr. Rajesh Deshmukh for eye surgery.

Mr Rajesh Deshmukh greeted my mother, a 90 year old wheelchair bound lady, in her own right. Mum has been almost blind for many years and her condition suddenly worsened within the last 6 months. Mr Rajesh Deshmukh spoke to mum, not to me, her daughter. He didn't automatically assume that mum would not understand him, as so many do when they see a physical disability. Mr Rajesh Deshmukh explained to us both fully, mums issues with her eyes. He was absolutely brilliant in engaging with us, to take time to give a full explanation as to what was happening and why! He treated mum with the greatest respect and dignity throughout our time spent with him. Although mum's condition was extremely debilitating, he was willing to offer laser surgery to help solve the issue of mum's extremely poor sight. He spent so much time explaining what he could offer, the side effects (very few), the plus side and the very rare complications that can arise. He was very clear with availability of this surgery and the cost. We were given all the time that we needed to make the right decision for mum. He then offered and performed the treatment. Spent time with mum, explaining again, what may happen in the next few days, and what to expect in the longer term. Mr Rajesh Deshmukh tested mums eyes at the end of the surgery. Almost immediately, the fog had started to clear. Mum could see the simple test that Mr R D performed. We were absolutely shocked, stunned and thoroughly mesmerised! Mr Rajesh Deshmukh was thoroughly professional, caring, thoughtful and concerned for mums welfare and comfort throughout the time that we spent with him today. I cannot recommend this surgeon highly enough! I would not hesitate to contact him again, should we be in need of his skills.

Mr. Deshmukh was very professional and put me at ease immediately, as I'd been very nervous about having my cataracts done, and quite wobbly after these procedures. I was very reassured by his manner and his ability to listen, and his explanations were simple and very clear. I left the very impressive Moorfields St. Anne's Ophthalmology department feeling I'd been seen by one of the very best professionals there.
