



Mr Acher is a Consultant Urological Surgeon.  Following training on the South Thames part of the London Specialist Registrar roation he gained entry to the Specialist register in 2011. Mr Acher completed his PhD on prostate cancer brachytherapy at Cambridge University and in 2010 received a commendation at the Royal Socoiety of Medicine Young Trainee of the Year Awards.
His special interests include general urology, urinary stone disease, problems with urinary flow and urological cancers.  Mr Acher has introduced short stay laser prostate surgery (HoLEP) for benign prostate problems and carries out 100 of these procedures per year. He also manages kidney stones and has  set up an advanced Prostate Diagnostic services incorporating multiparametric MRI and comprehensive transperineal prostate biopsy- this has reduced infections and inconclusive transrectal biopsy, and most importantly is preferred by patients.
Mr Acher is passionate when it comes to evaulating outcomes and contributing to published literature and within his busy schedule manages to find time to present and teach at international meetings and as a result has received numerous prizes for his work.
Mr Acher strongly believes that patients should receive the best available and up-to-date evidence-based care.
