“I would highly recommend Mr Culpan. From the first appointment I had thorough and informative diagnostics and a clear idea of my hip problem and the treatment required. I was given all the information and advice I needed to make a decision and have the operation when I was ready. The care I received by Mr Culpan and his team and the nursing care at London Bridge was first class. The results have been outstanding, having been in terrible pain and being restricted in walking distances I am now walking on average 8km a day and back to all my sports with no discomfort and complete flexibility. It is a very daunting idea to have major surgery but being in the hands of such a great surgeon and having the right team around you is key. In addition taking the advice and following all the physio instructions is key to building strength and being able to return to a active life. “

I asked another leading orthopaedic surgeon to recommend a hip specialist to consult over my complex hip problems and he suggested Mr Paul Culpan, who I was told is top of his game. I am delighted by the treatment received from this very experienced and skilled surgeon. His easy manner is an added bonus. I would not hesitate to recommend him for both straightforward and complex problems.

Mr Culpan did a total hip replacement for me and I have nothing but gratitude for him. He is a lovely man who is cheerful, supportive and pro active. He is a great communicator on all levels. My scar is amazing and so small which is unusual with hip replacements. My pre and post op care and ongoing support has been amazing. Although it can never be said to be great to have an operation this has been the most positive experience overall for me and given me a new lease of life with renewed energy and functionality. I cannot recommend Mr Culpan enough. You will feel very safe and supported in his capable hands. If Culpan can't, no one can!!

I cannot thank Dr Culpan enough for the support he has given me over the last year. I went to him with hip issues - lower back pain and difficulty sleeping. When I went at the end of 2019/start of 2020 I was in agony and finding it hard to cope. Walking and getting out of bed was even an issue. I had been seeing my own GP for sometime who had prescribed painkillers to help. Initially we tried some physio but ended in an ultrasound guided cortisone injection into my hip following an MRI which had located the problem. Just before we locked down last march. I don't know how I would of coped the last year if this hadn't happened. It was pretty miraculous. Dr Culpan has a really caring bedside manner and I trust him implicitly. I had an appointment to see how we were getting on and I mentioned my hands which had been painful this year - dr said come back in 4 months. He immediately spotted what it was - carpal tunnel syndrome - recommended a colleague - and I was fixed within 2 weeks. I really can't stress enough how happy I have been with my treatment and the outcome. So thankful to have him as a support

I had a Total Hip Replacement. Mr Culpan is extremely kind, caring and approachable. He always had plenty of time to explain the detail about the procedure. I felt totally reassured, confident and safe. Six weeks after my operation. I feel very well, and move freely.

    Hip Replacement Hip Surgery
Mr Culpan performed hip surgery on my left hip previously and when I started having difficulty walking and pain around the right hip I had no hesitation in contacting him to get his opinion of what was happening to me. The initial x ray only illustrated a minor problem and although I was suffering he did suggest I could wait to have surgery. An honest opinion, not rushing anyone into surgery is something to be valued. His attitude as before is to put patients’ interests first. A CT scan revealed more arthritis and explained why walking was becoming a painful process for me. Again all options and recovery process explained to me and I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Culpan to anyone suffering. Surgery is being organised for me.
