Mr Pasha Nisar FRCS, is a Consultant Colorectal and Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgeon at Ashford & St Peter’s NHS Trust appointed in 2011. He is lead for colorectal cancer and inflammatory bowel disease surgery at the Trust. He performed the first single incision ‘scarless’ operation for cancer and the first artificial sphincter implant at the Trust. He established the department's research programme with Royal Holloway, University of London and supervises PhD studies on genetic biomarkers for colon cancer. He is co-ordinating development of robotic surgery and is clinical lead for endoscopy at Princess Margaret Hospital.
Mr Nisar grew up in Sunningdale and attended King’s College School, Wimbledon. He read medicine at Trinity College, Cambridge University and Addenbrooke’s. He was awarded a doctorate from The University of Nottingham for his thesis at the Academic Surgical Unit. Specialist surgical training was completed in the London Deanery including St George’s, Frimley Park, Royal Surrey Hospitals. Mr Nisar spent one year at the Cleveland Clinic USA, a world renowned centre of excellence, at the Department of Digestive Disease training under Professor Vic Fazio. Mr Nisar is a high volume surgeon with expertise in all aspects of colorectal disease, hernia repair and endoscopy. His focus is on achieving the best clinical outcomes and excellent results for patients. He is an international conference speaker with over 50 articles and book chapters published. Mr Nisar was voted Global Health and Pharma Colorectal Surgeon of the Year 2019.
