The Waterfront Beaufort House Elstree Road, Elstree, United Kingdom, WD6 3BSWith over 20 years of experience in his field, Mr Parijat Bhattacharjee is an expert Consultant Gynaecologist who firmly believes in providing one to one, personalised care to patients with complex gynaecological problems. Mr Bhattacharjee specialises in menstrual disorders, infertility, pelvic pain (including endometriosis and ovarian cysts) and abnormal bleeding (including fibroids). He is based at London North West University Hospitals Healthcare Trust, where he is Lead for Gynaecology Cancer Services.
Appreciating the busy and often hectic lifestyles of his patients, Mr Bhattacharjee offers a one-stop service in fertility management for his patients, which includes an ultrasound scan and where possible, treatment on the first visit. The majority of the surgical procedures he performs are minimally invasive i.e. keyhole surgery (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy). Mr Bhattacharjee offers his service in fertility management both as part of the NHS and in his private practice.
He has had extensive experience in all aspects of the speciality during his specialist training in U.K. including at RoyalLondon & St. Bartholomew’s, Royal Free , University College London and University of Leicester hospitals.
He has further trained as a Clinical Research Fellow at The Early pregnancy, Gynaecology Ultrasound and Minimal Access Surgery unit at St. George’s Hospital, London.
He had his training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the Minimal Access Therapy unit at the Royal
Free Hospital.
He had advanced training in Infertility at the Reproductive Medicine Unit at University College London
Hospital.
He currently does regular Fertility and General Gynaecology clinics in both NHS and in the private sector. He offers an individualised personal care and prefers to scan(ultrasound) his patients himself and does most of his surgeries through key hole which ensures less pain, quicker recovery, generally same day discharge and overall greater satisfaction.
Mr Bhattacharjee is actively engaged in research and teaching. He trains postgraduate trainees from Imperial College School of Medicine . He is a trainer in Gynaecology ultrasound and Gynaecological surgery for the RCOG Advanced skills modules. He teaches in the MRCOG courses of the Royal College ( RCOG ) and has been a reviewer of research papers for RCOG World Congress . He is on the Editorial Board of the RSM journal, 'Ultrasound'. He is on the DRCOG subcommittee, RCOG. He is an examiner of MRCOG examinations.
He regularly trains doctors and nurses in Africa and India in Gynaecological & Obstetrics procedures (Essential Life saving skills for mother & baby: LSTM-WHO) . He has multiple publications & presentations at national & international journals and conferences .
He is a member of the following medical bodies: BSGE, ESGE, BMS, BFS, ISRS, RCOG, ICOG
