



Orthopaedic Surgery
Mr Panagiotis Gikas is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in bone and soft tissue tumours (sarcomas)Â as well as primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty (joint replacement) surgery.
 His private practice is at The Lister Hospital in Chelsea, the Spire Hospital in Bushey and the Private unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. His current NHS post is at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust.
His areas of expertise include:
1. hip and knee surgery, especially anterior muscle-sparing approach to the hip and the use of robotics to optimise outcomes from hip and knee replacement
2. surgical management of bone and soft tissue sarcomas
3. surgical management of metastatic bone disease
Mr Gikas attained his medical qualifications at St George's Hospital medical school and conducted his postgraduate training in London. He is an honorary lecturer in the Department of Physics at University College London and leading research in hip and knee surgery and bone and soft tissue cancer.
