    About

Mr. Omar Haddo is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in shoulder, upper limb, and trauma surgery. His skills include arthroscopic surgery for the shoulder and elbow and also shoulder replacement surgery, as well as some hand and wrist operations. Mr. Omar Haddo was appointed to the Whittington Hospital in 2008 which he still currently holds, and his private practice is based at The Wellington Hospital, the Highgate Hospital, and Spire Bushey Hospital in London.

During his medical training at St Bartholomew's Hospital Medical School, London (1990-1996), he also undertook a bachelor of science degree in Clinical Sciences at St Mary’s Hospital, London (1995).

His appointment to the Stanmore Orthopaedic Training Programme in 2002 offered him the opportunity to experience various aspects of orthopaedics, including peripheral nerve repair, paediatric orthopaedics and bone tumour surgery at Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital and the Royal National Orthopaedics Hospital.

After this, Mr. Haddo undertook a fellowship at the internationally renowned Reading Shoulder Unit. This fellowship proved to be a valuable and insightful experience, where he developed his skills in arthroscopic surgery and also in shoulder replacement procedures.

His desire to keep updated with the latest discoveries and treatment options drives him to attend national and international conferences, where he has also given several presentations on a variety of topics. He made a great contribution to the medical literature by publishing a wide variety of scientific papers and book chapters over the last 10 years.

His involvement in teaching is a significant part of his work and he has been a faculty member on various orthopaedic and shoulder courses.

His vast experience and his holistic approach ensure that he individually tailors the treatment options and the management of the condition to suit the patient’s needs.

It is important that HCA is transparent about our relationship with those doctors who provide us with clinical guidance on delivering the best possible care to patients and operating our hospitals safely and efficiently. We set out here some of the ways in which we work together and the amount we pay this doctor for such services.

Most attentive doctor, takes the time to examine you instead of sending you for a battery of useless and expensive tests, and to explain your options, and spares you useless sessions with physiotherapists. Thank you for your good care.

I went to see Mr Haddo after breaking my upper arm in a skiing accident. He was welcoming, talked me through the X-ray findings, examined me gently but with great expertise, set out a clear path to recovery with (if possible) no surgery, and patiently answered all my questions. As a clinician, he inspires great confidence and puts you at your ease. I would recommend Mr Haddo to any patient seeking expert assessment and treatment of their shoulder injury.

I dislocated my elbow 10 weeks ago in a snowboarding accident and first saw Omar Haddo three days after the accident. Following an MRI scan, Mr Haddo recommended a brace followed by physiotherapy as the best course of action rather than an operation even though there was significant ligament damage and a fracture. Over the past 10 weeks my elbow has improved tremendously thanks to Mr Haddo’s recommendations, especially in relation to increasing the amount of movement over time without affecting the stability of the elbow. Mr Haddo recommended a physiotherapist close to my office which was extremely helpful. I have found Mr Haddo knowledgeable, personable and pragmatic. I have no doubt that because I was able to see Mr Haddo so quickly and quickly decide on a course of action that my elbow has healed quicker than it otherwise would have done.
