Mr Nicholas Ferran is a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery and specialises in upper limb surgery. Mr Ferran is fully registered with the General Medical Council and features on the Specialist Register as an orthopaedic surgeon. He practices at various locations throughout London.

In 2002, Mr Ferran graduated from The University of the West Indies with a MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery). Following this, he undertook extensive post-graduate specialty education and training. This included training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery as part of the East Midlands (South) T&O Rotation, an MSc in Orthopaedic Engineering at the Cardiff University, as well a number of distinguished fellowships, including one based at the Prince of Wales and Concord Hospital, Sydney, Australia, and another at Circle Health at Nottingham NHS Treatment Centre.

Mr Ferran possess a strong passion for shoulder and elbow surgery. A key surgical interest of his, for which he has also gained significant respect and recognition for, is in performing shoulder and elbow surgery under local anaesthesia, with awake patients. Carrying out the procedure in this way avoids the risks associated with general anaesthetic and accelerates post-operative recovery for patients. In 2017, Mr Ferran performed this ground-breaking treatment on a 94-year old woman, who received two new shoulders during the surgery, something that would otherwise have been impossible if not for this approach.

Mr Ferran offers a number of other common procedures, including elbow procedures such as tennis elbow repair and elbow arthroscopy, carpal tunnel surgery, ulnar nerve release surgery, rotator cuff repair surgery, and just about any and every procedure concerning the shoulders.
