About

Mr Nicholas Ferran is an orthopaedic surgeon with special expertise in upper limb surgery. He is currently a Consultant in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery and listed on the Specialist Register. Mr Ferran practices at a number of different hospitals and offices throughout London and is fully registered with the General Medical Council to practice.

Following his MBBS from the University of the West Indies in 2002, Mr Ferran went on to obtain significant post-graduate training and speciality education in the UK. This includes the aforementioned Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery speciality, an MS in Orthopaedic Engineering, and prestigious fellowships at The Prince of Wales and Concord Hospital in Sydney, Australia, and Circle on the NHS in Nottingham, UK.

Shoulder and elbow surgery are a passion for Mr Ferran. One of his particular surgical interests is in performing shoulder and elbow surgeries under local anaesthesia when possible, with patients awake. This allows patients to have much shorter post-operative recovery times and avoids the risks of general anaesthesia, which may make surgery otherwise impossible for some patients. In 2017 Mr Ferran treated a 94-year old woman whom received two new shoulders, something that quite simply wouldn't have been possible had it not been for this approach.

Other common procedures Mr Ferran performs include carpal tunnel surgery, elbow procedures such as tennis elbow repair and elbow arthroscopy, ulnar nerve release surgery, rotator cuff repair surgery, and pretty much any and every surgery or procedure concerning the shoulders.

Mr Ferran is fully accredited, highly-rated, and well-educated, with a wealth of practical experience in shoulder and elbow surgery, trauma, and orthopaedic surgery. With multiple practice sites and hospital privileges around London, a consultation or appointment with Mr Ferran is easy and convenient. Don’t suffer from shoulder, elbow, or other upper limb conditions any longer – there are surgical options to repair and improve these problems. Contact Mr Ferran for an appointment today – it might just change your life!

My experience with Dr Ferran was incredibly positive. He was realistic about the recovery process and recommended an excellent physio that he regularly works with. His online videos made everything clear and simple and really helped to remind me what we had spoken about. With his guidance, I was able to be back to full range of motion in only six months post injury!

My experience with Mr Nicholas was very pleasant. He took time to hear me out and after examination and testing discussed various options to resolve the issue with my shoulder i.e. surgical intervention and its benefits or risks and non-surgical approach.
