“Road running has been my passion for most of my life so when a couple of years ago the cartilages in both my knees became torn & running became too painful I was devastated. Luckily I contacted Mr Thilagarajah , at Fawkham Manor Hospital, who confirmed that he could operate to fix the problem. In his kindly inspiring manner he explained clearly what he would do & even agreed to do both knees at the same time to reduce recovery time. After a short time I was able to restart running, albeit slowly & for short distances but after a some months I was able to compete again in 10k races. Although I am now over 80 I am still running each morning & in the last two 10k races, I have come 1st in my age group. I am eternally grateful to the excellent skills of Mr Thilagarajah which have enabled me to enjoy my running for a few more years“
