



Orthopaedic Surgery
Mr Michael Hayton is a Consultant specialising in Orthopaedic Surgery. He has a particular interest in hand and wrist surgery at Wrightington Hospital. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer working at the University of Liverpool and the University of Salford, and also holds the position as Medical Director at the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance (MIHP).
His clinical interest includes sports medicine when he visited the National Sports Centre at Lilleshall. From this, he chose to complete his university dissertation looking into blood lactic acid levels in athletes. He has more than 15 years of clinical experience in treating sports injuries of many athletes.
Furthermore, he provides lectures both nationally and internationally, and he has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals.
