Mr Massmiliano Cariati is a leading Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon with HCA Healthcare at the Wellington Hospital along with an NHS role at University College London Hospitals Foundation Trust. His area of expertise is the assessment and management of benign and malignant diseases of the breast. The talented surgeon has a special interest in the management of breast cancer, reconstruction and conservation. He offers a first-class service to his clients at a time when they need it most.
He began his career at the University of Florence Medical School summa cum laude where he was the top of his class. After completing basic medical training in Italy, he moved to the UK to continue his training and was awarded a PhD in Surgical Oncology at the University of Cambridge. He completed his higher surgical training in Surgery across the London and South East Thames Region, including three years at the renowned Oncoplastic Breast Unit at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital and a Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons. He was awarded the prestigious NIHR Clinical Academic Lectureship in Breast Surgery as well as the Academy of Medical Sciences Starter Grant. He remains heavily involved in research, particularly in the development of new surgical techniques and was awarded the 2016 Ronald Raven Proferred Prize by the British Association of Surgical Oncology. He is an international figure in his field and has lectured and presented his work worldwide.
