It is with great pleasure that I write this review for Dr. Aquilina. I highly recommend him as I was very impressed with his professional approach, kindness, excellent communication and he made me feel cared for. He was consistently professional, attentive and responsive to all my questions, he was also always kind with a gentle, calm and warm demeanour. He performed a thorough examination, explained my diagnosis very clearly and the procedure of surgery (hysteroscopy) that awaited me. This put me at ease and gave me comfort that I was in excellent hands. On the day of surgery, Dr. Aquilina took the time to visit me before the surgery to explain the process again, understand how I was feeling and answer my questions. He was also there post surgery to greet me and assured me that the surgery went well. I very much appreciated this. This treatment was positively lifechanging for me and I feel very fortunate to have been under the professional care of Dr. Aquilina.

My husband and I have been so very fortunate to have met Mr Aquilina 16 years ago when I had my early pregnancy scan with our first child. He was so reassuring, caring and informative that we felt immensely relieved that we had chosen him as our obstetrician. He guided us through each pregnancy and delivered both of our babies. The value of having a highly-skilled and nurturing obstetrician is truly priceless. He manages to combine being a superb practitioner with a modest and gentle manner. Since both births I have continued to see Mr Acquilina for gynaecology, and again this has been such a valuable experience. He has guided me through birth control choices and, in recent years, though the peri-menopausal stage: he has helped me make informed choices which has been incredibly reassuring. We cannot recommend him highly enough! He supports women as they navigate through the various phases and stages of their lives, providing top-class healthcare and expertise in a consistently caring and nurturing fashion. My husband I are feel very lucky indeed to have been supported by the wonderful Mr Aquilina!

We are connected to medics and so had insight and access to many of the top and most sought after and well regarded obstetricians in London. Some propose planned cesarean sections. We were expecting our first child and didn't like the idea of cesarean section unless absolutely necessary. Mr Aquilina is modest, gentle and thoughtful. His manner immediately reassured my partner. We never felt rushed, and were gently guided through all the difficult decisions confidently and felt fully informed. He's also decisive, calm and extremely experienced and this becomes vital in the crucial final hours of delivery. Joseph had taken us on late as a special favour (2 months before the estimated delivery date) and at short notice despite a busy and booked schedule. At the outset he had warned that there was a weekend in February that he'd already pre-booked to be away and he made arrangements in advance to have a colleague cover. The covering colleague made contact with us a month before delivery was due and this allowed ample time to get to know each other too. As it happened the contractions happened right in the middle of the weekend that Joseph was due to be away and so his colleague took over entirely. She already had been briefed on everything by Mr Aquilina. It was seamless. We went in mid morning on Sunday. By late Sunday afternoon the epidural was in place and the contractions were increasing. All was going well. Delivery was expected in the next few hours. Later that evening we got a call that Mr Aquilina had landed at the airport and instead of going home first he chose to come directly to the hospital from the airport. Both he and his colleague then stayed with us for the next 5 hours until my son was safely delivered. We very lucky to have had Joseph and his judgement and choice of covering colleague who was also very skilled and outstanding. His organisation and excellent communication provided us with safe care throughout. Though the pregnancy had proceeded well, it was a potentially difficult delivery. I have no doubt that it was down to Joseph and his colleague's experience, good common sense, clinical judgement and skill that my wife and our boy did so well and didn't suffer from any complications. We were privileged to actually have both excellent senior obstetricians present at delivery. We are extremely grateful that we had the good fortune to go to Mr Aquilina.
