It’s always disconcerting and frightening to find out that you need major surgery . You are , literally , putting your well being and your life in someone else’s hands . From the moment I met Jig Patel I felt safe . From our first meeting , to my final consultation he was kind, understanding, clear and concise . He made me feel safe , AND , he gave me the impetus and the confidence to get back on my feet . I would have no hesitation in recommending him to other people - he’s given me my ‘life’ back , and I’ll never be able to thank him enough .

After a difficult experience within the NHS (my operation was cancelled 4 days in a row following a trauma injury - complete rupture of patella tendon), Mr Patel was able to see me the next day after I initially made contact. He was waiting for me at the Princess Grace following my transfer from Cambridge, and his manner immediately put me at ease and filled me with confidence. It was such a huge relief and change after the stress and discomfort of the the previous five days. The surgery went very well, and he was available to answer any questions I had during my recovery. At all times he was warm, friendly and filled me with confidence. The physio he recommended was also first rate. Nineteen weeks on from the injury and I am very happy with the results - I am close to resuming jogging and have already been swimming and weight training for some time. Each day I am noticing progress and feel that I will get back to 100%.

In February 2018 I suffered a knee problem in which it was prone to giving way as I walked. I contacted Mr. Patel for advice as I was going on holiday in March and needed to know if this was a realistic activity. I had suffered from arthritis for several years and the primary outcome of the diagnosis was that I needed a full knee replacement however an injection into the kneecap would probably save the holiday I had 2 injections in 2018 under his supervision and finally had the knee replacement in march 2019. Throughout this time the guidance and advice was first class. The surgery went well and my recovery compared to some others I know has gone exceptionally well Mr. Patel would certainly be the Orthopaedic Surgeon I would choose if my other knee requires attention

I have seen Jig Patel three times this year as I have had a problem with my knee. I found him to be personable and thorough. In the event, I have not needed surgery but will not hesitate to see him again if the problem returns.

I saw Mr Patel for pain I was experiencing in my left knee. The whole consultation and treatment process was very straight forward and Mr Patel and his team were wonderful. They took the time to explain their processes and procedures, the diagnosis, recommended treatment and prognosis at each stage, clearly and made me feel very comfortable and confident with their recommendations and treatment. Mr Patel is a very pleasant and friendly professional and all my questions were answered by him completely, no matter what I asked. He was recommended to me by a friend and I would recommend him to anyone who experiences a similar problem.

Jig did such a good job sorting out my daughter's badly broken leg when it would not heal, he was my first choice of Consultant when I had a constantly painful knee joint. My experience was excellent from start to finish with immediate access to an MRI scan, effective diagnosis and explanation of the problem and decision to perform an arthroscopy. This was followed by rapid booking in for the procedure in London Clinic (which was also very clean, efficient and excellent) and the operation. Following the procedure to remove meniscus I was walking straight away and without pain. Six weeks on I have had no recurrence of pain and can happily walk two miles. Brilliant!
