Ian Currie is an internationally recognised clinician with over 20 years’ experience in delivering high quality healthcare to women globally. He prides himself on being able to explain medical jargon in a way that enhances a patients understanding.
He was Vice President for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists from 2012-2017 and now serves on the Board of Trustees
He is well known both locally and nationally for the treatment of many pelvic floor disorders such as urinary incontinence, vaginal reconstructive surgery (including prolapse) and menstrual disorders. He has specific expertise in post obstetric birth trauma. He also has a large general gynaecology practice that includes the treatment of heavy, painful periods, ovarian cysts, endometriosis and fibroids and their associations with fertility
Ian has several publications and articles as well as peer reviews for leading journals and has received the maximum Clinical Excellence awards points from his Trust. He was appointed as a Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist in 1997
As a respected clinician he has lectured nationally and internationally and has had wide media exposure on radio , print and TV.

I had a procedure which I was pleased with. However, I was given some additional news (test results which had come back from the hospital) in my follow up appointment and I believe that he hadn’t read my notes properly before the appointment and he was unprepared. He therefore was unable to answer any questions or offering any advice. I may expect this with the nhs but I do not expect this care at a private consultation.

Read moreI'm beyond satisfied, and, as ever, very impressed with both Mr Currie's professionalism and humanity. I totally trust him, and my whole procedure went as smoothly (as far as I know, as I was 'under' during ....) as can be, I woke up feeling totally fine -- no dizziness, pain or nausea. And until now, 4 days later, there has been no pain or any discomfort at all. I'm still awaiting the results. p.s. If only he were a Liverpool supporter........ (he supports Everton... sadly, nobody is perfect...)

My appointment was on a Saturday.I was given good information regarding my condition followed by treatment. I was told that the treatment sometimes did not prove to be successful. If this happened, I could make an appointment to see Mr. Currie on Monday when he had a clinic. This proved to be the the case. I duly contacted reception & got an appointed for that morning. On seeing Mr. Currie he gave me further information regarding other treatments & surgery relevant to my condition. As I am a self paying patient he felt the best way forward was to be referred back to my G.P. for treatment. Mr.Currie was extremely understanding and made me feel relaxed & comfortable with his good bedside manner.
