With over 20 years of training and experience in the diagnosis and management of gynaecological conditions under his belt, Mr Ian Currie is a highly skilled Consultant Gynaecologist based in London. Mr Currie is a firm believer in a holistic approach to care, and ensures that all medical terminology and treatment decisions are thoroughly explained to his patients, in order to support them in making informed decisions during their healthcare journey. He offers private consultations at 104 Harley Street, The Portland Hospital for Women and Children and Princess Grace Hospital in London.
In 1987, Mr Currie graduated from the University of Leeds with a Bachelor’s degree in medicine, after which he undertook basic followed by specialist training in gynaecology. During his specialist training, he was exposed to a range of gynaecological areas including general gynaecology, reconstructive surgery, post obstetric birth trauma and menstrual disorders. In 1997, he was appointed as a Consultant, and since then has become renowned throughout the UK for expertly treating menstrual and pelvic floor disorders.
Mr Currie is both an active and highly respected member of the scientific research community. He has shared his research and expertise in the media and at international and national conferences and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading gynecological journals. Between 2012 and 2017, he was appointed acting Vice President for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. Demonstrating his commitment to outstanding clinical practice, Mr Currie has received the maximum amount of awards for Clinical Excellence from his Trust.
