Orthopaedic Surgery
Mr Hilali Noordeen completed his primary medical qualification at the University of Oxford in 1985. After qualifying, he later went onto receive his Orthopaedic training at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hopspital and the Middlesex Hospital, London. Mr Noordeen has been a Consultant in Spinal Surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and at the Children's Hospital at Great Ormond Street, together with the Princess Grace Hospital and the Portland Hospital, since 1995.
Mr Noorden is a proponent for the importance of teaching and to this extent, he remains actively involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate teaching with students from University College London. Not only this, he has also presented at national and international meetings on spinal surgery and published papers on spinal surgery.
An advocate of research, he is the author of several articles in peer reviewed journals and chapters in books, and is the editor of the Interactive Spine CD. He is a Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Orthopaedics and the Institute of Child Health, University College London, and has been awarded a number of prizes and awards for his clinical and research achievements including the ISOLA Prize awarded by the British Scoliosis Society (BSS) for the Best Scientific Paper.
His exploits reach beyond the medical sphere—in his personal life, he and his wife also founded and support a family-run educational institute for Tsunami affected children.
