Mr. Gareth Stables has been looking after people with knee problems for over 20 years. What he's noticed over the years is that consultants who specialise in one thing tend to have the best results. That’s why he chose to only look after and help people with knee problems.

" I'm your Knee Doctor, not just your knee surgeon..." - Mr. Stables will help you explore non-surgical treatments for your knee problem, potentially avoiding or delaying the need for major surgery. But if surgery is your best option, he will help you decide if surgery is right for you, and, will only perform the surgery that is right for you.

Mr. Stables can help you with:

    • Diagnosing your knee pain - getting to the bottom of what’s causing the pain, arranging investigations such as MRI scans and X-rays, making sure you understand what the problem is, and helping you fix it.
    • Knee arthritis -  He can help diagnose knee arthritis early and will be able to offer many non-surgical treatments such as specialist joint injections (that are not available on the NHS).
    • Early diagnosis and treatment can help you avoid major surgery. If you need surgery, such as a knee replacement, he will help you decide if surgery is right for you, and, will only perform the surgery that is right for you.
    • Sports injuries - for example, helping you get active and playing again after a cartilage tear or cruciate ligament tear.

Mr. Stables' practice is based on two core values:

    • "I am approachable and embrace social media and have an open communication pathway to ensure that I listen to my patients and we can develop a treatment plan that is right for you. "
    • "I believe that knee replacement should be a last resort. Whilst there have been many advances in knee replacement surgery and it is a very safe and effective procedure, replacement joints have a finite life span. For patients under the age of 55-60, I prefer to offer a range of treatments that will preserve your natural knee joint and delay (and in some cases, completely avoid) the need for knee replacement surgery. "

Mr. Stables uses the latest technologies and advanced techniques that utilise your body’s own tissues to help regenerate and revive joints affected by arthritis.

We have a team of therapists and we work together to preserve and optimise your knee joint to get you moving and keeping you pain-free.

Mr. Stables uses healthcare apps and virtual consultations to make sure that you are keeping on track with your progress and will be there for you if you ever have any questions.
