Mr Faiz Mumtaz is a consultant urologist with over 18 years of experience in general urology with a subspecialist interest in keyhole surgery and minimally invasive robotic kidney cancer surgery. Faiz qualified in 1985 and undertook his postgraduate training at the Royal Free Hospital and University College London. He has participated in various clinical trials and is a recipient of several research innovative grants. He has developed a 3D technology to enable him perform very complex robotic surgical procedures for kidney cancer, one particular benefit of which is the preservation of the kidney as a result of only the kidney tumour being removed.

He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on the subject of urology and kidney cancer, and also a textbook on urological emergencies.

Faiz currently consults in London at the Royal Free Hospital, Kings Oak Hospital, BMI Cavell Hospital, Hadley Wood and at Platinum Medical Care and Wellington Hospital.

Faiz is an active member of the Lions Club of Enfield and over the last 10 years he has actively raised funds for local and International charities. He helped fundraise £300,000 for Prostate Cancer UK in 2012, and is currently actively involved with a project to raise funds for a dedicated Kidney Cancer Research Laboratory at the Institute of Immunology and Transplantation at the Royal Free Hospital.
