Professor Eric Jauniaux is an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 25 years of experience as a consultant. In 2002, he was appointed Professor in Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine at University College London (UCL) for his research into fetal and placental physiology, and work on placental related disorders of pregnancy.
Professor Jauniaux is part of the Early Pregnancy unit and Emergency Gynaecology team at UCL. His main areas of clinical expertise include molar pregnancies, recurrent miscarriages, placenta accrete. He also has a specialist interest in ultrasound imaging and menopause management.
He was instrumental in establishing Reproductive Bio-Medicine on line and has been an editor for the Journal of Medical Screening and British Journal of Obstetrics. He has also authored and co-authored over 300 peer-reviewed papers and 60 book chapters. He is regularly invited to speak at international lectures. He co-founded Medical Aid Films in 2006, a charity that uses multimedia to educate and train health workers in low income countries.
