Mr Edmund Fitzgerald O’Connor, Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon is a highly experienced physician with a specific interest in complex microsurgical reconstruction. Currently, he works within the Guy’s and Thomas’s NHS Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Trust.
He began his medical education at St George’s University of London in which he was awarded an undergraduate medical degree. Following his graduation Mr O’Connor went on to complete his basic surgical training, which he followed up with a higher surgical training on the Pan Thames Plastic Surgery Training Program. Developing his skills further, he completed fellowships in microsurgical techniques at Royal London Hospital and Royal Perth Hospital in Australia. The fellowships focussed on breast reconstruction, hand surgery, aesthetic surgery, and trauma reconstruction. Prior to his current role, Mr O’Connor was a consultant plastic surgeon in Australia.
His work for the NHS remains varied with a special focus on major trauma reconstruction. He is also highly skilled in breast reconstruction, hand injuries, post weight loss surgery, skin cancer, and general plastic surgery.
