“Having emergency back surgery 10-years ago, which did the trick at the time, I became very conscious of signs that my condition was probably on the way to deteriorating again when numbness in my legs returned 2-years ago. I was referred to Professor Choi by my previous neurosurgeon, who had retired from back surgery, and after scans immediately gave me the confidence in that he was not someone who would rush in to surgery, rather explaining what the likely progression might be and what options there were. He gave me full confidence and reassurance at all times. It was earlier this year as the symptoms became more pronounced and interfered with my ability to walk or stand for any length of time that we agreed that the Stenosis I was suffering from needed to be dealt with. Subsequently under Professor Choi’s guidance I agreed to go for elective surgery to deal with the problem. The operation, though not without risk, thankfully went well and not only have all the numbness, cramps and pain I had persevered with for so long vanished, now 2-weeks post-surgery. I have been surprised by the rapidity of my returning to full function and with no lingering pain. At all time Professor Choi has shown a real sense of concern balanced with a measured approach to surgery. We have recommended him to others, all of whom have had equal experiences to myself with successful outcomes. I personally could not recommend him more highly. “

I am not sure which category to place my condition. The simple explanation is that I had a calcified cyst growing on a disc which was permanently pushing on a nerve.

I was referred to ProfessorChoi by Dr Saifee who I saw as my initial neurologist. Professor Choi was very reassuring and answered all my questions and provided me with a date for surgery 2 weeks after the initial consultation. The professor came to see me the morning of the operation as well as post surgery and the following day. I am very please with the care I have received and would recommend.

Prof Choi is soft spoken and knowledgeable and it inspires confidence. He also decided on a procedure for my back that did relieve my pain, after so many attempts by other doctors without success. I am very grateful and so happy!.

Professor Choi realy saved me. He has found my back condition deterioration to the point of danger. I cannot recommend Professor Choi enough. He and his staff arranged the operation for me within a week, which is amazing considering the present situation. Everything was done very efficiently and smoothly. Professor Choi was very clear and informative is his explanation of the procedure. He replied to my queries promptly. I am now recovering. I have had disectomy before, and I am pleasantly surprised at the period of recovery, and the level of discomfort which was very little.

I have seen Prof Choi now on several occasions. On each, he has been welcoming, kind, considerate, helpful and totally empathetic of the circumstances of my medical issue. He explained clearly, concisely and in laymen's terms, my situation and was both positive and assured about how to remedy the situation. My cervical spine and nerve decompression operation has been a huge success and my after-care continued the personal and attentive service I had received before. I could not recommend Prof Choi highly enough.
