Mr Spence-Jones qualified at St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London. He undertook his clinical training in obstetrics, gynaecology and research in London, Cambridge and Canada. In addition to his obstetrics and gynaecology training, he also completed the General Surgery Fellowship.
Mr Spence-Jones has written chapters for reference text books and taken part in research projects. In 2013 he was president of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine. He was a consultant at the Whittington NHS Hospital for 25 years where he was formerly clinical director.
Colleagues refer patients to Mr Spence-Jones for surgery as he has a special interest in pelvic floor reconstruction, using natural tissue without hysterectomy and without mesh - a technique he is regularly invited to lecture on.
