Dr Christian Barnick is one of London’s top Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, with over 30 years of experience working in leading London teaching hospitals.

He works privately and in the NHS, and sees women with a wide range of gynaecological problems, from the most simple through to the highly complex.

Where appropriate he performs advanced specialist keyhole surgery for fibroids and severe, deep infiltrating endometriosis.

Dr Barnick has established and runs an accredited tertiary referral center for advanced endometriosis, he has an international reputation for performing advanced laparoscopic surgery.

He also provides a comprehensive package of antenatal care and delivery at the Portland Hospital.
With over 30 years experience of both normal and complex obstetrics, Dr Barnick is able to support both natural birth and planned Caeasarean section and also to manage all obstetric emergencies. He still really enjoys it!

Provision of up to date, unbiased, evidence-based information and shared decision making, is key to his approach.

    Diseases, Medical Tests and Treatments
    • Antenatal care and delivery. A patient centred approach.
    • 'Natural' Caesarean section. If a Caesarean delivery is required then it should be as pleasant as possible
    • Advanced Minimally Invasive (Keyhole) Surgery. Whilst a laparoscpoy is a routine operation it needs to be performed to a high standard
    • Laparoscopic Surgery for Fibroids. Most fibroids and be removed with Keyhole surgery provided the surgeon has the necessary skills.
    • Laparoscopic surgery for severe deep infiltrating Endometriosis. It is essential that this is performed by an expert
