Mr Ash Alam is a consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist practising at NHS Arrowe Park Hospital and the private Spire Murrayfield Hospital in Wirral, as well as at the Sefton Suite of Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool. Mr Alam received his medical degree in 1994 from the Medical College of St Bartholomew’s Hospital. He received his training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in London and New Zealand and has been a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist since 2006.
Mr Alam has a special interest in the management of heavy, irregular or painful periods, and has an interest in the use of endometrial ablation for heavy periods in place of hysterectomy. Other areas of specialist interest include fibroids, as well as painful sex (dyspareunia), vaginal pain and menopause care. He is also able to advise and treat patients with abnormal smear tests. Mr Alam is fully trained in gynaecological ultrasound as well keyhole (laparoscopic) surgery and in the full spectrum of general gynaecological procedures.
