“It's now 6 months to the day since my Total Hip Replacement surgery. I was first diagnosed with moderate to severe arthritis in my left hip back in 2012, some 9 years ago.. I persevered with the difficulties it was increasingly causing me in my everyday life, mainly because I was scared of the thought of surgery. I eventually made the decision to seek professional advice again late in 2020. I thought I’d seek help and advice from a Rheumatologist first, trying anything that wouldn’t involve surgery. He took X-rays and told me that unfortunately the only solution was surgery, he recommended Mr Imbuldeniya. I did my research online on the handful of surgeons that BUPA had suggested, Mr Imbuldeniya was one of them. I was impressed with the amount of Hip Replacements that Mr Imbuldeniya does in a year so I knew he was an experienced surgeon. I had my appointment with Mr Imbuldeniya and was immediately impressed with his confidence and expertise. I was still very worried and delayed the suggested surgery date until after Christmas 2020, I finally settled for 11th January 2021. Still very concerned about the surgery especially as we were heading into another spike in the COVID crisis, I resigned myself to put myself in the professional hands of Mr Imbuldeniya and his team. On the day of the surgery everything was explained to me and I was treated exceptionally well by everybody involved in my case. Mr Imbuldeniya came to my room to put me at ease and explain what I needed to know and asked if I had any questions. Then the Anaesthetist visited me, again to make me feel at ease. The whole procedure went to plan and I woke up feeling so relieved that I had actually gone through with it, and now all I had to do was to recover. Six months on, I've long finished my Physiotherapy, but I still do my exercises 5 mornings a week. I feel great, I cycle, I swim, I go to the gym and I'm walking 10,000 plus steps a day at weekends. I no longer walk with a limp and I can actually feel that my legs are both the same length, such a nice feeling after putting up with my damaged hip for so many years. looking back I wish that I'd done it earlier, the whole experience has been a total success and I'm so happy with the outcome.“

    Knee Arthroscopy
Mr Imbuldeniya has performed two knee operations on me (first the left knee and then the right knee) during the last two years. Both operations were arthroscopy with partial medial meniscectomy and chondroplasty of medial femoral condyle. The operations were successful and I was mobile within a week after the operations. Mr Imbuldeniya and his team are very professional and made the entire process extremely easy with minimum stress. I'm very satisfied with the professionalism, experience and results, and therefor highly recommends Mr Imbuldeniya.

Mr.Imbuldeniya is not only immensely knowledgeable but also a talented communicator, friendly, open, and most important of all, a problem solver. He quickly assessed my acute condition and in spite of the Coronavirus crisis managed to schedule prompt ,effective surgery. He also has a great sense of humour.

    Hip Replacement
I saw Mr Imbuldeniya in his NHS after seeing a consultant with a dreadfully condensing, uninterested attitude. Mr Imbuldeniya was patient, honest and humorous. He seemed to understand that my particular concern was a big deal to me even if he’d seen hundreds of similar cases. When explaining something if I didn’t get it he found another way to express it to ensure I did get it. I felt I would be in safe hands hands that saw me as an individual rather than a collection of damaged bones on an x-ray. I’m well recovering from a hip replacement and I wholeheartedly recommend him as a surgeon and greatly admire his attitude to his work. We need more like him.
