Mr Amir Darakhshan is a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon specialising in the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Pelvic Floor disorders and Hernia repair, with an expertise in Laparoscopic Surgery, reflecting his sub-specialty work at Guy’s and St Thomas' Hospitals.Â
He graduated from King’s College Hospital London, receiving his surgical training in London and the South East of England, with specialist colorectal training in Sydney, St Thomas’ Hospital, King’s College Hospital and St Mark’s Hospital in London, where he developed his interests in Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Pelvic Floor disorders and Laparoscopic surgery.Â
He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a member of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland and the Pelvic Floor Society.Â
Awarded a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2008, his thesis and main research at the Royal London Hospital looked at the use of the Gracilis Neosphincter in the treatment of incontinence. In addition to this he is also published numerous times on general surgical, colorectal and pelvic floor disorders.
