



Mr Ali Mearza is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon specialising in laser eye surgery, cataract surgery and refractive lens exchange.
Mr Mearza is the Clinical Director of ophthalmology and lead consultant ophthalmic surgeon at London’s Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, the UK’s first Academic Health Sciences Centre. He completed his training in London and went on to complete a year’s fellowship in cornea & external eye disease at Moorfields NHS Trust. He followed this with an additional one-year fellowship in laser refractive eye surgery at the prestigious Emmetropia Mediterranean Eye Institute on the island of Crete, the birthplace of modern LASIK.
In addition to his role as consultant ophthalmic surgeon, he is now responsible for the ophthalmology service which spans across four sites, Charing Cross Hospital in Hammersmith, The Western Eye Hospital in Marylebone, St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, and the London Clinic on Harley Street.
His ethos is to provide the very best personalized care using state of the art technology and techniques.

Mr Mearza is an excellent ophthalmologist and specialist in corneal pathology and refractive surgery. He is a leader in the field and presents his work internationally. I have no problems recommending Mr Mearza as an honest, considerate and caring doctor to my patients.
