Mr Abrie Botha is a renowned Consultant General Surgeon with HCA Healthcare at London Bridge Hospital along with an NHS post at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital in South London. He has a subspeciality in gastrointestinal surgery including hernia repair, anti-reflux surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction and cholecystectomies. He has a wide range of experience in treating those with both upper and lower gastrointestinal cancers
The talented surgeon obtained his medical degree at the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. He completed his post-graduate training in general surgery at University College London Hospital and The Royal London Hospital, followed by 2 years of full-time research in Denver, Colorado. He was awarded the William Fellowes prize from Norfolk and Norwich Hospital for his outstanding case presentation as a junior doctor. He completed a Fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons and is a member of the Associaton of Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery of Great Britain and Ireland.
