    Mr Mital Desai is a consultant vascular and endovascular surgeon based at The Harley Street Clinic, London. His NHS practice is at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, across St George's Hospital, Tooting and Queen Mary's Hospital, Roehampton.     Education

    Mr Mital Desai qualified from India in 2003 after completing accredited higher surgical training, recognised by The Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. He moved to the United Kingdom in 2006 and spent one year training in vascular surgery at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester. He moved to London in 2007 and completed higher degree MD in basic science vascular research on development of novel aortic stent-grafts for endovascular repair at University College London (UCL) for which he has won several grants and fellowship awards.

    He was successful in being appointed on highly competitive clinical academic training programme funded by the National Institute for Health Research, first as an academic clinical fellow followed by an academic clinical lecturer in Leicester and London respectively. During his higher surgical training by Health Education England, he gained integrated experience in open and endovascular complex aortic aneurysm repair, lower extremity arterial disease, carotid disease, endovenous interventions, arteriovenous malformations, and paediatric vascular surgery at Royal Free Hospital and University College Hospital, London. Following completion of training, he has done a post-CCT fellowship at St Thomas’ Hospital, London gaining advanced endovascular training in aortic, lower extremity arterial and deep venous disease before his consultant appointment at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In 2021, he has been promoted as a Clinical Senior Lecturer at St George's University of London.
