Miss Joanna Franks is a Consultant General Surgeon specialising in breast and oncoplastic surgery, for which she treats all malignant and benign breast conditions. She has a keen interest in the early detection of breast cancer, mastectomy, breast conservation, and breast cancer screening. She sees private patients at the Wellington Hospital, King Edwards VII hospital and St John’s, and Elizabeth Hospital.
Miss Franks earned her primary medical qualification from Imperial College London, after which she completed pathology research funded by the Medical Research Council. She then went on to undertake her Higher Surgical Training with the London Deanery, at the Oncoplastic Breast Unit at University College London Hospitals and the Macmillan Cancer Centre. Since her Consultant appointment, Miss Franks has also become a trustee for the Future of Dreams Organisation, responsible for raising awareness, support, and funds for breast cancer patients.
