



Urology
Mr Marios Hadjipavlou is a London-trained consultant urological surgeon based at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital as well as Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust, where he is an honorary consultant. His specialist interests are in general urology, endourology, male lower urinary tract conditions, benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate cancer diagnosis, the endoscopic management of stone disease, and holmium laser enucleation of the prostate (HoLEP).
Dr Hadjipavlou gained his medical qualification from King's College London before specialising in urology and undertaking further training across South London and Wessex. During his training, he gained expertise in laser prostatectomy for patients with enlarged prostates as well as MRI-guided transperineal prostate biopsies for the diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer. Dr Hadjipavlou has given expert advice to NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) on a number of new benign prostatic hyperplasia treatments. He also has a passion for medical education and teaches both undergraduates and postgraduates.
Dr Hajipavlou has won several awards throughout his career including the prize for best poster at the Société Internationale d'Urologie Congress in 2019 and first prize for best podium presentation from the Royal Society of Medicine in 2017. Has made significant research contributions to the field of urology and has more than 25 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Hajipavlou has also been asked to present at over 70 national and international conferences.
