Mr Ibnauf Suliman is a colorectal and general surgeon consultant with a strong interest in minimally invasive surgery, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and proctology, as well as elective and emergency general surgery.

He undertook his advanced surgical training at the North East Thames rotation at University College, the Royal Free and the Royal London Hospitals. He went on to complete three fellowships based in Sydney, the Royal Marsden, and the Royal London Hospitals before joining the Royal Free London, Barnet, and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust as a consultant.

At University College London and the Babraham Institute in Cambridge, he undertook research into new approaches to bowel cancer screening, and his findings were published and presented.

He is the current chair of the colorectal cancer multidisciplinary team and has a strong interest in minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery. His colorectal fellowships in laparoscopic, robotic, pelvic floor, and exenterative surgery have contributed to his clinical practice.

Locally, he is the governance and audit lead, and he has managerial responsibilities. He enjoys educating junior surgeons and is an examiner at UCL Medical School.
