Dr Georgios Dimitriadis is a consultant endocrinologist and bariatric physician who practises at BMI Chelsfield Park Hospital and King's College Hospital, where he is a senior lecturer. Dr Dimitriadis has clinical interests in a variety of different areas including obesity management, reproductive endocrinology (female and male), general endocrinology, type 2 diabetes management, endocrine cancer, adrenal problems, thyroid problems, and bone metabolism disorders.
Dr Dimitriadis gained his medical qualification from Sofia Medical University in 2005 before beginning his core training. He developed a passion for endocrinology and metabolic research and went on to pursue further training in endocrinology. He went on to study female reproductive disorders particularly the effects of obesity on female reproduction and earned a first-class MSc/MRES degree for his work. Dr Dimitriadis has also gained an MSc on obesity and related comorbidities, as well as a PhD on the cardioprotective effects of medical and surgical interventions for obesity management.
Following this, he was awarded a nine-month scholarship from Athens Medical School to conduct research at the Human Metabolism Research Unit (HMRU) at Warwick University where he earned the European Union of Medical Specialists award for his study design. Dr Dimitriadis has also been awarded a number of other accolades including scholarships from SfE-BES, UEMS, Novo Nordisk UK Research Foundation and the Green Shoots Investigaor Award from NIHR South London CRN.
