He also specialises in the implantation of pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy, and other cardiac devices. In addition to his role at Barts Health Centre, Dr Ahsan also works at North Middlesex University Hospital, where he was responsible for establishing the arrhythmia service.
Dr Ahsan graduated with a first-class honours degree from Guy’s, King’s, and St Thomas' Medical School and went on to complete his specialist cardiology training in the London area and completed a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology and cardiac devices at the Heart Hospital. He also achieved an MD from University College London, where he investigated techniques to improve outcomes in patients with cardiac rhythm devices, achieving the Royal Society of Medicine National Prize for his work.
Dr Ahsan puts his patients first in everything he does and takes the time to thoroughly exam his patients and ensure they understand their condition and treatment options. He is also passionate about research and is currently looking at new technologies for atrial fibrillation treatment.
