52 Alderley Road, Wilmslow, United Kingdom, SK9 1NYDr Simon Williams is a consultant cardiologist at the Wilmslow Hospital and the Manchester University NHS trust. He specialises in all aspects of heart failure, from community clinics and inpatient MDT work to cardiac transplant, VAD assessment and pacing therapy.
Along with his clinical work, Dr Williams is an honorary senior lecturer at the University of Manchester. His research group is are currently researching the immune system in heart failure and following cardiac transplantation. He has over 120 publications in peer reviewed journals and frequently is invited to speak at international conferences. In 2013 he was re-elected to the British Society for Heart Failure (BSH) board as Treasurer. He was also Programme Director for the BSH annual meetings in 2012 and 2014.
He lives in Hale with his wife and two children. In his spare time supports Altrincham FC and likes running, skiing and Coronation Street.
