He gained experience at a number of specialist units in London, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals, the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore and St George’s Hospital. He has also completed a Bachelor’s degree in Osteopathy.
In 2006, he was appointed as an RAF Consultant at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre, where at various times, he was Lead Consultant responsible for back pain problems, neurological rehabilitation and complex medical rehabilitation and he helped develop MOD-wide policy on neck pain rehabilitation and chronic pain management.
Much of Dr Paul's focus is on returning patients to their best physical, mental and psychosocial condition following illness and injury, so they are able to return to work.
After leaving the RAF, he studied Law, which he undertook part-time, graduating with a Distinction and winning the Dean’s prize, and he has an interest in medicolegal matters. His work has also been published in peer reviewed journals and he has written chapters in medical and legal textbooks.
Dr Paul regularly delivers presentations in the UK to health professionals and corporate groups.
